If your waste hauler cannot give you this information, we recommend (at least initially) that you physically go to the dumpster to look and record how full it is. While this may seem onerous, if you are going to track your waste, this is important information. The best method for tracking waste and materials is to get the actual weight from the waste hauler. You might want to consider making this a requirement in your RFP when you are in the process of contracting with a new waste hauler. So, while it is good to get the “Percent Full” from your waste hauler, it would be better to get the actual weight of the waste.
