Medical Office Buildings (MOBs) physically located on a hospital campus, may need to be included in the hospital benchmarking depending on who owns the MOB:
- If the hospital owns the MOB, then they have to include it in their campus benchmarking for certification because they have complete control over the energy management and access to the energy bills.
- If the hospital does not own the MOB, then they are not required to include it in their campus because they most likely don't have full control over the energy management of the building, nor access to the energy bills. If a hospital has access to the energy bills of a leased MOB, then its up to their discretion whether to include it or not.
