Why is my Target Source Energy on the Design Tab different than on the Goals tab?

  • Updated

Your operational Target is used on the Goals tab (though it's just called the "Target") when deriving metrics like Target Site Energy and Target Source Energy

  • The operational target evaluates metrics relative to property energy meters and actual/operational uses. The operational Target uses the property's current predicted energy, which incorporates data about the actual experienced weather from the current energy year, and current operating characteristics (Number of Workers, and Weekly Operating Hours).

Your Design Target is used on the Design tab when deriving target metrics like Design Target Site Energy and Design Target Source Energy.

  • The Design Target evaluates metrics relative to the design energy and values. The Design Target uses the design predicted energy, which incorporates weather data based on the 15-year average weather instead of that associated with a particular year. This is because a design project has not experienced any actual weather conditions yet.
