What changes were made in the February 2022 web services 18.0 release?

The Portfolio Manager web services 18.0 release was February 7, 2022.

Because there were no changes to the XML schemas, EPA did not offer a beta (TEST) release period in advance of the production release.

The 18.0 release included the elements below.
  • Medical Office Building score updates
    • Score Updates
      • US scores for properties containing a “Medical Office” property use will be updated to reflect new industry data.
        • Canadian scores for properties containing a “Medical Office” property use will not be affected.
      • With the release of these model updates on February 6, Medical Offices will become eligible for ENERGY STAR Certification (previously, this space type had been eligible to receive the 1-100 score, but ineligible to earn Certification).
    • Updates to Use Details
      • There will be no addition or removal of existing use details for the Medical Office scoring model.
      • However, two property use attributes that had previously been optional will now be required for calculation of a Medical Office score:
        • medicalOfficeNumberOfSurgicalOperatingBeds
        • medicalOfficeNumberOfMriMachines
    • Backfill Existing Property Uses with Default Values
      • Upon release of this new model, existing Medical Offices for which “Number of Surgical Operating Beds” and “Number of MRI Machines” have not been populated will be assigned default values of “0” for these required use details.
      • For new “Medical Office property uses, default values of “0” will be applied if actual values are omitted during the creation of the property use.
      • Providers and/or building owners will need to review and correct this default value as appropriate.

  • Expanding the fuel types for which monthly site energy use metrics are available.
    • These new metrics will be accessible via the existing Get Property Monthly Metrics call.
    • Metrics will represent total monthly site energy consumption, by fuel, for each of the 12 months defined by the annual period ending date specified in the call.

  • New metric indicating eligibility for ENERGY STAR Certification
    • This new metric will be accessible via the existing Get Property Metrics call.
    • New web services name for this metric:
      • energyStarCertificationEligibilityForAllPEDs
    • NOTE: this metric Intended to expand upon the current metric
    • NOTE: unlike the existing metric “energyStarCertificationEligibility,” this new metric will ignore the annual period ending date specified in the call URL. Instead, the call will identify whether there are any period ending dates for which the property is currently eligible to apply for ENERGY STAR Certification.
      • A response of “Yes” indicates that the property is eligible for ENERGY STAR Certification for one or more period ending dates.
      • A response of “No” indicates that the property is not currently eligible for ENERGY STAR Certification.
    • The process of applying for ENERGY STAR Certification, including the identification of the specific period ending date that is eligible for Certification, will take place through the front-end user interface.

  • Metric name changes

    • The following web services metric names will be updated to align with the current metric name in the front-end user interface:
      • From collegeUniversityNumberOfWorkersOnMainShift to collegeUniversityFullTimeEquivalentFteWorkers
      • From collegeUniversityWorkerDensity to collegeUniversityFullTimeEquivalentFteWorkersDensity
    • After February 6, any Get Metrics calls referencing these specific metrics must use the new web service metric names.
