Standard IDs in Portfolio Manager for Canada

Standard IDs are associated with local legislation, national campaigns, or other large benchmarking activities. For detailed steps to enter a Standard ID, see: How do I enter a Standard ID? These are open fields with no formatting, so please be careful when entering.

Standard IDs are broken into 4 categories; the City, County and State Standard IDs are limited to one each per property:

  1. City/Town 
  2. County/District 
  3. State/Province 
  4. Other

These are the Standard IDs in Portfolio Manager for Canadian locations:

  • British Columbia - Building Benchmark BC ID - This ID is provided by British Columbia’s Building Benchmark BC program, and identifies unique properties in the Building Benchmark BC program. It must be 10 characters long, please use only the ID provided to you by Building Benchmark BC.
  • LEED Canada Project ID - A unique number to identify projects registered for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) recognition from the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC). CaGBC assigns each project (building or neighborhood) this unique ID at the time of registration through the CaGBC website.
  • Montréal - Disclosure Building ID - The unique building ID for the city of Montréal, Canada.
  • Ontario BPS ID - A unique 6-digit identification number assigned by the Province of Ontario to identify buildings that are required to report energy use and greenhouse gas emissions for the Broader Public Sector according to the regulation Broader Public Sector: Energy Reporting and Conservation and Demand Management Plans.   • Ontario EWRB ID - A unique identification number assigned by the Province of Ontario to identify buildings that are required to report benchmarking information according to Ontario’s Reporting and Energy Consumption and Water Use regulation.
    • The EWRB ID will be sent via an email or letter by the Ministry of Energy. If you have not received this, contact EWRBSupport@ontario.ca to get your EWRB ID(s)
  • Ottawa Better Buildings ID - The Better Buildings Ottawa program supports and accelerates deep energy retrofits in buildings located within the City of Ottawa.
  • Vancouver Building ID – A number assigned by the City of Vancouver, British Columbia, to identify buildings that are required to report energy and carbon data under Vancouver’s Annual Greenhouse Gas and Energy Limits By-Law. The Building ID format begins with the letter “V” and is followed by five digits. Example: V00000.
