Does Portfolio Manager use a website certificate?

Yes, all of energystar.gov (https://www.energystar.gov ) including Portfolio Manager, is a secure website that uses encryption, therefore it has a website SSL/TLS (Secure Sockets Layer/ Transport Layer Security) certificate. The website certificate is updated annually.

If you use an API to integrate with Portfolio Manager, it is important to be aware of the SSL/TLS certificate.  The best practice for integration is to enable your system to trust the certificate authority (rather than the individual certificate).  By accepting EPA’s certificate authority, you will ensure no interruption of service when the individual certificate is renewed each year. If you choose to trust an individual certificate directly, you will need to monitor the published certificate date to ensure you update the new certificate each year when it is renewed.
